Cool news about Maine’s own Hannaford grocery chain. They’ve just opened the nation’s first LEED Platinum-certified supermarket, right here in Maine, in Augusta. I so envy their solar tubes and green roof. You’d think that Whole Foods would do something like this, but it’s nice to see a regular old supermarket chain (which I happen to really like) go green. It makes me think that green building practices are starting to go mainstream, and that they really could become the norm. Read more about it at Jetson Green.
